Ophthalmic surgical calculators

Mr Stevens has developed several ophthalmic calculators to plan, analyse and improve the outcomes of refractive, cataract and lens surgery. These are based on Mr Stevens’ own research and experience. The formulae are subject to continual review and development by Mr Stevens.

Each ophthalmic calculator aims to provide assistance with treatment planning but does not provide any guarantees. The operating surgeon remains responsible for all final calculations used in any surgical treatment.

The first of these calculators in now available to use online. This is written in AJAX and is designed to work on smartphones as well as tablets and full screen PCs and Macs.

Femtosecond astigmatic calculator

This is a nomogram-based calculator for intrastromal astigmatic keratotomy using the Catalys™ femtosecond laser for cataract surgery. This nomogram has been refined from the intended versus achieved outcomes of astigmatic treatment during cataract and lens surgery.
